We'd like to introduce you to the key people in our choir.

Naomi Jones (nee Charles)
Musical Director & Conductor

Naomi has BMus (Vocal) from Trinity College of Music, London, where she studied under Omar Ebrahim and John Wakefield, graduating in 2005.

After a brief career in vocal performance and film work including ‘The Magic Flute’ (Kenneth Branagh) and short stint in the West End, Naomi took up a PGCE (Secondary) at Reading University and began her teaching career in 2006.

Naomi has continued to perform as a soloist and ensemble singer and was delighted to be a member of St Albans Choral Society directed by George Vass where she performed as an occasional soloist and was also the conductor for the chamber group, ‘St Albans Singers’, who performed a number of concerts around the city. Performing with ‘The City of Canterbury Chamber Choir’ under George Vass she performed at the 75th Birthday Concert for the late John McCabe and she was also a soprano in the Presteigne Festival Chamber Choir in 2016. Since moving to Bedford in 2016, Naomi has been singing with ‘Locrian Choir’ under Justin Thomas.

As a pianist, Naomi accompanies her own school choirs and productions and has undertaken piano / conductor role for ‘Return to the Forbidden Planet’ (2008) ‘Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ (2012) ‘Oliver!’ (2010), ‘High School Musical’ (2013), ‘Grease’ (2014) ‘Fame’ (2015) and is currently in rehearsal for ‘Legally Blonde’ (2019)

Naomi is delighted to be conducting the East Bedfordshire Chamber Choir this term.
